NORTH COUNTY LGBTQ RESOURCE CENTER

The North County LGBTQ Resource Center is a 501(c)3 organization that serves the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, and questioning (LGBTQ) community of North County San Diego. Their service area includes the communities of Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, Fallbrook, Camp Pendleton, and other outlying areas.

Through the vision, dedication, and hard work of our supporters, the North County LGBTQ Resource Center became a reality in November 2011. We come together to share ideas, resources, and expand our presence in the local community. We envision the Resource Center as a visible symbol of the LGBT community in North County San Diego. The Resource Center will support, build, educate, and improve the relationships of the LGBT community and our friends and allies. Services include support groups for youth, seniors, military service members, HIV/AIDS testing and prevention, counseling, civil rights advocacy, classes, and workgroups.

FIRST 100 DAYS ACTIONS

We are challenging the group to ongoing actions within the first 100 days. We are pacing ourselves and choosing actions with purpose and meaning. Collective actions as well as personal and solitary actions like phone calls, emails, letters, post cards, marches, etc.

100 day challenge so far:

Learn the media source you can trust
Get involved in a group
Know who your representatives and congressman are
Put their contact information in your phone
March or call your representatives
Decide where your passion lies
Find a way to disconnect for a set period of time
Have fun (this can be fun at a protest)
Donate to a large organization you care about
Attend a group meeting (if you can't get to ours, host a get together for yourself)
SUBMIT YOUR CONACT INFORMATION to the CIRCLE
Pay attention to city politics
Switch banks
Contribute to a collective action
Send some postcards
Reach out to a new person, especially if they may oppose your views
Attend a town hall(Feb. 21)
Attend the Grab n Go event on Feb. 26

IF YOU DID ONE OR ALL 20---
YOU ARE ALL DOING GREAT THINGS! 88 more days to go.

P.S. News to come about adopting a refugee family, t-shirts, postcards and more!
